Christian Gruissy, Jr. was born in 1811 in Switzerland, son of Christian Gruissy, Sr. & Barbara Straum. He married Mary Grorisclauss. They had four children. After her death married Mary Wise on 23 October 1849 in Stark, Ohio. They had seven children.Finding an obituary for Christian during a trip to Ohio was amazing. Augustus Ceaser Gruissy was born 16 May 1840. Family stories say he was born in Switzerland but evidence shows it is more likely he was born in Ohio. He was the son of Christian Gruissy, Jr. & his first wife, Mary Grorisclauss. Augustus married three times. He married Mary Ann Everett on 21 February 1861 in Ohio. They had four children. He married Esther Barbara Wolf on 6 December 1868. They had five children. He married Ellen about 1908. John Andrew Gruissy, the only son of Augustus, died as a young boy. Augustus made medicines.
