‘Polly’ Spurlock was born 1 January 1800 in
Oglethorpe, Georgia. She married Edward Stewart Brown about 1835. Together they
lived in Amite County, Mississippi where, in 1836,
Mary gave birth to three children. On 26 January 1836 she gave birth to her
first child, Allen Moses Brown [my 2nd great grandfather]. On 15
December 1836 she gave birth to twin girls, Martha M. Brown and Mary Magdelene
Brown. [They would later have two more children.]
I
have three children born over a span of five years. I cannot imagine having
three children in one year! At this time I don’t know of any family living in
the area but I hope there was someone who lent a hand.
