McComb Men’s Brother Dies. Jesse T. Brumfield Succumbs at Tampa, Fla., Widely Known in Pike – Jesse T. Brumfield, 72, brother of H. S. and Police Chief D. A. Brumfield, of McComb, died at Tampa, Fla., Wednesday afternoon, January 27th. He was born and raised in Pike county and spend 60 years of his life here. He has many relatives and friends in the county who will regret to hear he is no more.

 

He joined the Silver Creek Baptist Church when quite a boy and lived a Christian all his life. He was the father of 7 children, his wife and four sons having passed on years ago. The three surviving children are Mrs. E. E. Brent, Holmesville; Mrs. A. Q. Fitzgerald, Summit; and C. L. Brumfield, Sunny Bank, Va.

 

A number of grandchildren and the following eleven brothers and sisters also survive:

 

H. S. (Henry Sims Brumfield) and D. A. Brumfield (Dudley Atkinson Brumfield), McComb;

 

Charles E. Brumfield, Magnolia;

 

John B. Brumfield, Tylertown;

 

Mrs. W. W. Leggett, Magnolia (Mary Emma Brumfield);

 

Mrs. H. F. Bridges, Tylertown (Lucinda Brumfield);

 

Mrs. H. M. Lee (Elizabeth Brumfield), Mrs. J. J. Lee, (Alice J. Brumfield) Kioto;

 

Mrs. M. W. Lampton, (Martha Lucy Brumfield) Biloxi;

 

Mrs. H. G. Mackey and Mrs. E. E. Thigpen (Myrtis Brumfield), Jackson.
