Willis R. Brumfield Rites Said

 

Tylertown – Funeral services for Willis R. Brumfield, 74, will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday in the Knoxo Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Brumfield, a retired farmer and former supervisor of Walthall County, died Sunday morning in a local hospital following an apparent heart attack.

 

A native of old Pike County, he was a lifelong resident of the Walthall County area.

 

He served as supervisor of Walthall County for 20 years, from 1940 to 1960.

 

At the time of his death he was president of the Walthall County Farm Bureau, a member of the board of directors of the Walthall Livestock Assn. and the chairman of the board of deacons of Knoxo Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ollis Blackwell Brumfield; two sons, Basil and Charles Jesse Brumfield both of Tylertown, two daughters, Mrs. Eldon Holmes, Tylertown, Mrs. Wade Thorton, Merritt island, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Limmie Alford, and one brother, Ellis Brumfield, both of Tylertown.

 

Rev. Larry Johnson will officiate. Members of the board of Deacons of Knoxo Church will serve as pallbearers.

 

Burial will be in the Tylertown Cemetery with Ginn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
