Son of Burrell Walter Fortenberry & Martha Charlotte Moore

Husband of Osea Magee 



Tylertown. – Burrell Harden Fortenberry, 87, retired painter and paperhanger, died Monday in Walthall General Hospital.

 

Services will be 10 a. m. Wednesday in Oral Baptist Church with the Rev. Lavell Knight and the Rev. Curtis Nobles will be officiating.

 

Mr. Fortenberry was born Oct. 30, 1894, in old Marion County. He was the son of the late Walter and Mattie Moore Fortenberry. He was a veteran of World War I where hw served in the U. S> Army.

 

Survivors include four sons, Denman, Burrell W. and Charles Fortenberry of Tylertown, Robert Fortenberry of Denham Springs, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Jimmie Lou McElveen of Tylertown, Mrs. Irma Jane Williams of Angie, La., Mrs. Lela Fay Newman of Jackson, La.; three brothers, Stanley, Sidney and Wilton Fortenberry of Tylertown; one sister Mrs. Essie Kennedy of Angie, La.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great – grandchildren.

 

Burial will be in the church cemetery with Capps Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
