Forget Me Not: Carl L. Brumfield, Pharmacist & Naval Officer

‘C. L. Brumfield  is Laid to Rest in Friday Rites’


"Funeral services for Carl Lewis Brumfield, 66, retired pharmacist and chief warrant officer U. S. Navy, were held from Hartman Chapel at 3 p. m. Friday. Mr. Brumfield, a resident of Route 1, Summit, died in a local hospital at 3 p. m. Thursday following five months of illness. He was born in Pike County, Aug. 12, 1890, and had made it his official home all his life, which included 35 years of service in the Navy. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Services were conducted by Rev. Fellow Tucker of Jackson, with Messrs. Bill Brent, Gordon Brent, Luke Kethley, Al and Charles Ray Fitzgerald and Harvey Durham serving as pallbearers.

He leaves two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Brent and Mrs. N. S. Wilkinson, Summit; seven nephews, G. L. Brent, Pascagoula; Bill Brent, Summit; Clyde Fitzgerald, Athens, Ga.; A. H. Fitzgerald, McComb; Sid Fitzgerald, Summit; Commdr. Paul D. Fitzgerald, U. S. Navy, and Luke Kethley, Summit and other relatives.

Burial was in Brent Cemetery near Holmesville with Hartman Funeral Home in charge of services."
