Happy Mothers' Day!
In keeping with the day I am posting a picture of my great grandmother,
Nancy Regina V. Gruissy Mark
with two of her daughters,
Wava Alice Mark Braun [on left]
and my paternal grandmother,
Ivy Regina Mark Brown
[on right].
This was taken in Ohio where the family lived. I love the big hair bows. I think if the picture was taken today they'd be smiling and maybe have their arms around each other, the way my daughters & I usually pose.
Family stories tell me my great grandmother was a meticulous housekeeper and strict disciplinarian. She loved gardening & quilting, two things that I love as well.
