Sunday Obituary – William Brady of Derby, CT

Highly Respected Resident of This City Succumbed This Morning

Death claimed one of Derby’s well known residents this morning at Griffin hospital when William Brady, who was a resident of this city for many years, succumbed after a short illness due to general disability. The deceased was born in County Cavan, Ireland, and came to this city when a young man.

He was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s church and a member of the Foresters of America. He is survived by his four daughters and one son: Mrs. William Halse of Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. H. Milo Chaffee and Mrs. William F. Larkin of Shelton, Miss Helena Brady of Brooklyn, New York and Eugene Brady of South America.

The body was removed to the home of his daughter, Mrs. William F. Larkin of 108 Howe avenue where funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 o’clock and a 9 o’clock at St. Joseph’s church. Undertaker Thomas F. Stapleton has charge of the arrangements.

  1. William Brady must be in a well-kept cemetery; otherwise that tombstone would surely have become hidden by weeds. Even though it's a simple marker, look how clear the engraving is.
