  1. I wonder if his"Hodgkin’s disease" was caused by exposure or if this was a cover story.

  2. I was wondering the same thing...how sad, since he was so young.

  3. I had the same thought as Charlie. But I've been busy doing the math - he was just a kid during the war. Well, he was just a kid when he died too. Such a short life but he was a football hero and war hero, although that's not much consolation for his family, I'm sure.

  4. Ronnie's story is sad, to die at such a young age. His death certificate agrees with his obituary's cause of death. I don't think those planes offered any protection from the effects of the bomb.

I had heard of my Grandfather's brother Thomas but I had always heard he died very young. No one ever told me how he passed in my memory. I had always assumed maybe my Nana (Eileen Banks Brady) lost him after child birth. I had NO IDEA about all this history.

My Grandfather John Joseph Brady stormed the beaches of Normandy on DDay, and my Nina (Carlyle Purcell Brady) told me he assisted in the liberation of several concentration camps. They were married not even a week after he returned home from the war.
