Fortenberry – Edwards Vows Said in Jackson Ceremony. A wedding of interest to a wide circle of friends here is that of Bessie Pearl Edwards to Thurman Fortenberry of Progress. The Presbyterian manse was the scene of the wedding on Friday afternoon, Feb. 1, at five o’clock, with Dr. Girard Lowe, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, performing the single ring ceremony.
Miss Edwards was attractively attired in a light blue wool dress with black accessories. Her only attendants were Misses Emily Hewitt and Bonnie Moak, both of Jackson, Miss.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. J. J. Edwards, of Ackerman, Miss. She is a graduate of Ackerman high school, attended Clark’s Business College and is now employed with the Mississippi Rating Bureau in Jackson.
Mr. Fortenberry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Fortenberry of the Progress community. His brother, Wilburn Fortenberry, was best man. The groom was for several years in the armed forces but is now employed ass produce manager of Jitney Jungle No. 6, Jackson.
Mr. and Mrs. Fortenberry will make their home in the Jackson Annabelle Hotel. Their many friends wish them a long and happy marriage.
